Scottish Power finally installed a Smart meter yesterday, but left no documentation other than a QR code. Does anyone know if at the start of each 24 hr period the SM adds in the Standing charge ( (54p) before clocking up actual usage? and total cost for the day?
Smart meter query
billG yes I think it does include the standing charge
You should have got a booklet explaining how the in home display works. The qr code is probably to take you to an online version of it. Just Google Scottish power in home display manual
geoffreycoan Thanks Geoffrey, I will follow the QR code. I’m supposed to be on ECO7 and I don’t think the remote display can show the two rates? The SM 2 on the wall has 3 Registers though Export, Off Peak and Peak Totals.
Just working. Out the best timer regimes for setting both battery charge periods. Going to try ….
Sunamp 3.00 to 4.30 am ( 2.8kw for 90 mins)
GE9.5 4.30 7.00 am ( 3.68kw for 2hrs 30mins)
Will possibly adjust the % charge on the GE accordingly , perhaps to 80%? As I’d prefer to charge the heat battery direct from the off peak grid supply rather than from the GE battery? Does this sound sensible?
billG it’s always going to be more efficient to draw directly from the grid than to charge the battery then discharge into something else. So whatever load you can shift to off peak makes sense
