At about 7:30ish this morning there was a BMS comms fail message in the inverter logs. Breaker hasn't tripped on the battery and on power on it clocks, status led goes red then it powers off.
The inverter seems to have been happy delivering solar to the house during the day.
I've logged a ticket for it, but just wondering what the likely prognosis is and how long it might take for a fix?

Turn the breaker to the battery off. Turn the battery back on.
If it stays on it's the battery board in the inverter. If it goes off it's the BMS board in the battery.
Can't really fix either without an engineer visit but at least you know & can keep the PV running by leaving the battery off.
Oh dear, just tried that and i guess it's the inverter as the battery stayed on 🙁
murrad good news is it still only impacts the battery.
So battery off, battery MCB off and leave the inverter doing its PV thing until repair arrives.

Just wondering what the typical response time will be from Givenergy. They said they've passed the ticket to their 2nd line team.
murrad mixed bag depending on where you live. There is a new RMA process which your installer should in theory be able to use but likewise Givenergy may insist on an engineer visit first to determine it's truly dead (which somewhat negates the whole new RMA thing speeding the process up)
It has been anywhere between 1-5 weeks from what people band about on social media but as I said it depends on how near to their engineers you are.
Same problem, I was told by the service team: visit in something like 4-6 weeks.
But in the end, due to an opening in their schedule, I got a replacement inverter at about 3 weeks.
I was told 3-4 weeks, but it was replaced in exactly two weeks.
So the Inverter was replaced on the 13th of November, no issues until today.
Noticed the inverter was flashing, and the battery was off. This time though the battery stays on regardless of whether it's breaker is on/off. There is some suspicious clicking from the inverter like before. Also noticed the reported capacity had dropped to 6.4 kWh and it said it was lead-acid.
After a full restart of everything it seems to be working ok right now.
Any thoughts on next steps, another call to GivEnergy?
