I set up the "smart tariff" thing on the portal a while back, even tho' I wasn't on any kind of smart tariff at the time - just the capped rate. That, to my surprise, worked immediately and gave me costs and information. My surprise because APIs and keys etc. are totally new things to me.
A week ago I got Octopus Agile outgoing set up, and without my having to do anything, I can now see those details on the portal too.
I'm impressed.

I had taken no notice of the Smart Tariff tile, being on Octopus Go I didn't think of that as smart in the same way that I think of Agile to be smart. Anyhow I went ahead and configured it yesterday. It was a bit buggy in the configuartion process but I got there after a few attempts. The linking to my Octopus account and the API I found very simple - just fill in a few boxes, and it just worked. I love data and now I have even more!
Of course, it all went haywire yesterday as Octopus, like every other energy supplier, was overwhelmed by people trying to upload meter readings. So the smart tariff area was intermittent at best. Not Ge's problem though, and it seems OK this morning. 😃
Yesterday was crazy for a lot of energy suppliers. The Octopus API's were very intermittent because of everybody uploading their meter data before the new tariffs come in.
I got a free charge on Intelligent because it was so intermittent!
GrahamShaul I remain happy but today note that when the basic tile is displayed to the left hand side in the column of tiles that the data is not populated correctly as it shows Import energy 1.49kWh with Estimated cost £0.12 and Export 0.00kWh with an Estimated Income £0.00. With the associated average rates. If I open the tile then the full display does show the correct data, I have validatd this by cheking with the Octopus App.
