Eco mode always used to keep my grid import down in the low tens of watts. Since yesterday afternoon it is now straying into the hundreds of Watts. Anyone else noticed this? Not sure if this is reality or a reporting glitch but there is definitely a bigger gap between the load power and battery power curves on the Power Graph.
Oddly yesterday mine went the other way, it says I have used 0.03kw grid yesterday.
Battery discharge down and grid import up for me. Almost looks like battery discharge is being throttled to around 100W. I have checked battery charge/discharge settings and they are both 3000W (raw 50). Also checked that Eco mode is on; it is.
Might be getting to the bottom of this now! The last change to the battery discharge setting was at 09:33(GMT) yesterday when it was upped from 81W to 3000W. This showed as successful at the time and also in remote history. All places where battery discharge is displayed agreed that it was set to 3000W. Out of curiosity I just performed a read on the battery discharge setting in remote control. It returned 81W!!!!!!!!! Looking at remote history (with all filters turned off) there are no changes to battery discharge shown after the one at 09:33 yesterday. So did the change to 3000W fail, even though everything said that it had worked, or has something totally unrelated (and unlogged) set it back to the minimum value in the interim?
Woodstock only GE will know but perhaps they took a snapshot of everyone current state for porting over the beta portal to be the production one?
You just happened to be on the wrong side of the snapshot perhaps?
hoggy Could be. I have tried repeating the setting changes made yesterday and all the reporting is identical. The only difference is that a read of battery discharge now shows 3000W, as it should. I shall wait until the battery starts discharging later today to see if it will go significantly over 100W.
For me the import export figures are approximately correct, though I tend to use my smart meter monitor for the definitive statement on how much I have imported in a day as that's exactly what I'm being billed for. If my daily use is below about 1kwh I'm happy. On 100% solar charge days it's usually about 0.4kwh. I'm on a flat rate tariff so there's no advantage to charging from the grid. Can't get Octopus GO as I don't have an EV :-(
Things returned to normal once solar generation stopped and the battery started to discharge. Looks like the problem was indeed that the battery discharge figure was at 81W despite having been previously set to 3000W and confirmed. Still don't know if the set to 3000W had actually failed or it had worked and something later caused it to revert to 81W. Wish I had done a read shortly after setting to 3000W rather than the next day!
One interesting thing to come out of this ( and the reason I did not immediately spot what was going on) is the way the discharge limit works when Eco Mode is enabled and in operation. Rather than a flat line discharge or clipping at the set limit I was seeing quite a variation around the set limit both above and below. The discharge was varying between 37W and 138W which, given that the later read showed the limit was set to 81W, suggests that Eco Mode processing trumps the discharge limit. More of a "keep it down to about this level" rather than a "do not exceed under any circumstances".

Have you looked into Economy7 + Agile Outgoing? That's an allowed combination.
