Octopus Flux Question

Hi folks, I have a 3.6kw inverter, solar panels and a 9.6kw battery.
I signed up to flux yesterday and set the battery to charge to 100% between 0200-0500, and discharge export to the grid between 1600-1900.

It's 1845 now but the battery has been sitting idle for about half an hour, having discharged and exported to the grid, down to 25%.

Not only has it stopped exporting, but it's also not providing any electricity to the home when there's a demand just now, so we've been using electricity at the highest import rate for about an hour or so.

I would appreciate any advice / information,

I presume you are using timed discharge and/or timed export.
Known fault that it does not reset to Eco.
Timed charge and reset to Eco works fine.
Try Octo R&D labs scheduler (didn't work for me Gen1 Hy5.0), WonderWatt (never tried it) or Home Assistant (my server on my network not reliant on Octo, GE or the internet to send signals to inverter).

I've actually just noticed there's intelligent octopus flux... Seems it integrates with the givenergy battery and does all the work for you?

Good in theory with batteries provided the SOC is at all accurate and you have no issues.

Scottishcammy if the battery is not discharging to the home demand when it’s still got charge then try a reset to defaults in the portal and set your import and export up again

As noteD above there is a known issue with the gen 1 hybrids that they don’t set back to eco mode after a scheduled discharge. If you manually initiate and stop the charge in the app then this is ok.

To be honest though there isn’t a great deal of financial benefit to Flux in the winter unless you either have lots of solar generation or low home demand during the day so you can store the overnight charge and discharge it at peak rate. The peak flux export rate is very similar to daytime import that anything you generate on export in peak is going to match what you import in the late evening if you run the battery out.

Intelligent octopus flux is quite different tariff. No cheap overnight period but import and export rates are the same. You hand control of your battery charging over to octopus.

I’d keep it simple on flux and just charge overnight.
Scheduling options are worthwhile for the summer when you have excess solar
