Hi, just about to move into a new build with solar + GE hybrid inverter Gen 3 + 9.5kWh battery.
Ideally I would like to add a GE EV charger because of the integration, but I would also like to get Octopus IO. I'm guessing/hoping that this is something that GE will support but would appreciate any hints that it's on the roadmap, coming soon etc, or alternatively 'no it's not going to happen' because then I would go for Ohme.
EV charger and Intelligent Octopus
ImpPhil don't hang your hat on any roadmap or "coming soon" statements with this type of technology. If you want IO to work, either check that your car is supported directly or use Ohme / another charger that has already been integrated.
I use an Ohme with GivEnergy battery and some cleverness to get the two playing really nicely together. At this time of year, my battery is configured to charge during any additional IO slots as well as overnight.
There’s been a lot of questions about this and givenergy have responded. Givenergy have done everything they need on their side and it’s now sat with octopus. You are unlikely to get a specific timeline.
stevelewis Do you use Home Assistant or something similar

Which car do you have? May be compatible which would get you on io irrespective of charger.
Hook Zoe unfortunately.
ImpPhil similar, I wrote my own code, some of which is now in GIVTCP for HA. www.github.com/salewis38/palm
c_squared where has this been said ?
Lab140 there have been a lot of questions/comments on the ‘givenergy battery and EVC owners’ Facebook group. It might also be in the EVC FAQ’s that was released but I can’t remember for definite on that one.
