I am unable to connect to the inverter readings at"Home". The away readings are no problem, but it will simply not give the more immediate readings in "Home" mode. I am definitely on the same wifi and even stood next to the inverter it will not give the Home readings. It is the same for my mobile phone and tablet. My wife however can get the Home readings on her phone with no issues. Very frustrating as I believe it must be a small issue. Anyone know the answer?
Thanks

Steven_Tagg there are plenty of threads about this, but we need more info - what phone/tablet do you both have, what inverter do you have?

As Cdent said plenty of posts on this . Check the IP address for your inverter and make sure your phone tablet is the same.

Ping the Inverter IP Address to check it is active on your WiFi
For the IP Address. Open GE App, Hamburger top left, Settings, Local monitorring, Scan for your inverter. Should show an address like192.168.1.17. This is the IP Address of the Inverter.
Ignore the lower address like 192.168.1.1 this is your router

App Ping & Net is good from an Android device.
Commands from a Windows computer

In the App go to Settings -> Preferences -> View Advanced Options -> Clear App Data
Log back into App and hopefully Home mode will detect your inverter and start working again.

Worked for me on iOS this morning

Mine worked again after manually re-entering IP address of inverter.

Dug an old Samsung phone out of the drawer and downloaded the app onto that. After entering my credentials it connected first time to " Local ". Found the IP address of the inverter and entered it into the app on my iPhone. It initially showed a red triangle. I was called away for a few minutes and when I returned it was sucessffully connected. It seems to be an IOS issue?

Replying to myself. When I opened the app this morning the " Home " option is no longer available and I get the message " Local Search Failed, no home connections were found " The old Android MoTo connects to " home " immediately. Time to dig deeper...

Crazily... my "Home" option hadn't been working for maybe 6 months... and about 2 weeks ago, it just decided to work again...

I initially contacted the installation company who didn't seem to give a monkeys and said the "Away" function told me the same things but was delayed by maybe 5 mins...

That's interesting to know, it will save me tearing my hear out in frustration. Meanwhile, I'm in the middle of switching Broadband provider and will have to change the WiFi password as the new service insists that the password contains a non alpha numeric character. Wish me luck...

I use a Google Mesh Wifi system in my house and just use the router provided by my ISP as a modem. I have found the ones they provide get worse and worse over time, so can't provide a reliable home network with dozens of devices but they seem to cope with just being a modem. So my SSID and password never changes when I change ISP. The only complication is I have to port forward for my VPN twice.

Returning to this home / away topic, The Android phone stopped showing the " Home " monitoring with the button being greyed our as on my iPhone. We have an iPad which is quite a few tears old, our 6 year old Granddaughter uses it to play age appropriate games. I set a download running and while waiting I looked at the App store on my MacBook Air ( M1 ). The icon said it was for iPhone / iPad, but it successfully downloaded to the MacBook and runs perfectly in full screen.
Happy with that.
