Not pulling change of rate outside normal hours on Octopus Intelligent

The Smart Tariff section isn’t updating with the change of rate where Octopus grant additional half-hours at the cheap rate for charging the car. Example today is below where I had additional time at the cheap rate which doesn’t show in the rate section, and also lead to the battery dumping the entire charge into the car.

Any idea how I can stop this happening and get the API cost data pull to work correctly?

Thanks!

It’s a bit smoke and mirrors don’t you think. Because Octopus don’t tell us when the additional cheap half hour slots will occur, we have to take their word about crediting our accounts with the resultant savings: I look forward to scrutinising my next bill!
Re your battery, I cannot see a way of stopping the dump if we don’t know when the slots are going to be.

Toogie a power monitor, such as a Shelly EM, on the EV charger is the way to go. I've automated this to either pause the battery or start charging, depending on the time of year.

How do you see this information? I have a AIO and a Zappy. I have Smart Tarrif enabled but it wont let me select EV Charger (the GivEnergy App doesnt seem to see the charger even thought the MyEnergy app can see the AIO).

GE doesn't yet use the Octopus graphQL API that you need to interrogate for the charge slots on Intelligent.
So you won't see anything in the portal about those extra slots.
If your on Ohme using intelligent it's even worse as Ohme & Octopus talk outside all of the above and have their own private link to feedback when smart charging has occurred.

I've kept quiet for years about the reverse engineered Ohme API hiding in plain sight on this forum if you want to roll your own in Home Assitant however (if car is charging set battery discharge to 0W & start forced charge kind of approach.)
