Hi,

My 1st post. I recently had a 8kwh GivEnergy ac coupled system fitted externally on the side of the house. LifePo4 batteries should not be charged below a certain temperature. I noted that there is an option for winter mode on the Inverter. Do we need to set this or is it automatic? Or does the battery have it's own internal system to ensure it is at a the correct temp to charge.

I have LifePo4 battery in my Camper and if the battery is below 5c it has an internal heat mat that will heat it to 5c before it will allow it to charge.

Shouldn't we all be informed if there is a problem in winter.
I have an external system but have not been told of any action to take.

lesfearn I am assured from my installer that this is not an issue down to -10. But I would like confirmation of what winter mode will do and what safety measures are in place at < -10 which we did see here once in the last 25 years 😆 .

Sticker from my battery. Note temps and what it can or can't do in those ranges. (Yours may differ & I don't work for them so it may do things to warm itself or it may not.)
