I am struggling to get any help from GivEbergy for a battery that failed a few weeks after install and now will not charge and shows a fault. My installer has said the GivEnergy need to 'bump start' the battery as the power level has fallen to zero. GivEnergy are not interested and want to charge the installer for a site visit. We have also had problems with a faulty breaker tripping and turning off the battery.. Does anyone have any help for this i am a novice and just want a functioned economical system.
BAttery has hit zero and now will not charge.
My understanding was that the fee was refundable if the problem turned out to not be an installation error. Basically, GE want to protect themselves from having to go out and sort out dodgy installs. If that is the case, and the installer is confident that it's not an installation problem, then the fee should be a non-issue ..?
Has the installer already sorted the faulty breaker ? Could the battery problem have been a result of the breaker ?
Thank you.
The breaker was replaced but by now the battery issue means it needs a good sunny day to provide enough of a boost for this jump start they say it needs. We had that a week ago but it didn't work. The installer is convinced its the battery...he is in discussions with them but judging from this forum it could take a while to get anyone out
If it needs a jump start, why not do a forced charge.
Either way it will be DC into the battery

SteveCook I believe the jump start is similar to a car, a large enough charge to get it going - usually something needs to be connected to the battery to do this

It's not really a user thing as it in involves opening batteries but your installer needs to do this:

Hybrids are more tolerant of low battery voltage as the PV DC side can kick start low voltage down to a lower level than the AC coupled which struggle more on the LV side.
But once a certain low voltage of the pack has passed the BMS shuts down and you need to follow the above procedure to bypass it and charge the cells directly.

Seems like a well place diode to bypass the BMS low voltage cut-out when charging is required.
Hi All, Having the same issue , my battery was fully charged and for unknown reason the Battery discharged and is on 0
Have placed the charge onto grid and solar and nothing,
Went for battery recalibration, when finished all data for solar has been lost, only info on the app is consumer usage and Grid supply only, Have requested installer to remote access and investigate, he said he would look into it, as yet no come back from him.
elevated the issue due to panels not being shown on the app, by mail no response, called and left second message and awaiting comms to begin with installer before moving to next step
I have no idea if panels are working, system is just over 12 months old, all info lost after recalibration was initiated. ??
How to reboot completely and erase the calibration is this possible.??

I had a similar situation. My AIO failed at commissioning stage. After a few days it started beeping and so the only option was to turn it off at the side.
Once the installer paid a deposit to GE, a GE engineer came out on a site visit and replaced the batteries in the unit. It could then be commissioned successfully.
