Hi
I just had my EV charger installed yesterday, apart from occasional internet drop outs it has an error code 26 which keeps occurring every hour or so and setting the unit into a fault state. It appears some sort of earthing problem although the charger did work perfectly for several hours delivering 11 kWh of charge. It only failed some time again after i had removed the charge cable.
Any ideas how this can be fixed?
regards
Andy
EV charger error26 fault
What piece of kit is this.
it's the GivEnergy 7.2 kW EV charger
Suggest you might do some reading and call the installer
thanks Steve, i have called the installer, hopefully he will sort it. It's an odd fault as it seemed to occur or at least be reported by the app, exactly every hour overnight as a notification. It then went away but is now back. If it's a real fault here or in the Giv device detection, it needs to be sorted!
cheers
Andy

Does the EV charger track voltage in the app?
A low or high grid voltage would also trigger the PEN fault circuit so may not necessarily be an actual earth fault.
hoggy Hi
Hi
the App is very basic, not sure if that is because it's new. There is no useful information about voltages, wifi signals self test etc which would help debug, only charging information.
UPDATE, i have measured the mains and it is 253.3 to 253.6V rms on my multimeter at all the times i have looked. It appears it is an actual problem with our mains supply being too high, chasing the DNO now. This problem and the poor wifi reliability of the charger makes it totally useless at the moment!
