After changing my Wi-Fi router, the Wi-Fi dongle for GivEnergy Gen1 Hybrid and AC-coupled inverters refuses to connect unless I remove all security,
is there a firmware update, so the latest devices can work with it, wpa3
in the doc's on it mentions in page 17 from 3.0-GivEnergy-AC-Coupled-MANUAL-15th-May-2020.PDF
7.2 The DRM0 Function for SAA Certification
The DMR0 function of AC Coupled inverter is provided for SAA.
The DRM0 connection CNS in the front plate,
When it receives the order from DRM0 connection, the inverter will act responding
to the order, the inverter must POWER OFF or POWER ON

The DMR0 is a RJ45 connection. Can it be use for local communication from router to home assistant with https://github.com/britkat1980/giv_tcp

sparky77 no it can't. It's an IO point that happens to use an RJ45 connector.
You short out each pin on the port and it will do different things (limit export, shut down, export more...) as per the DRM scope (mostly Australia)

It would seem GivEnergy are going to have lots of issues when customers upgrade their routers and cant connect to an old out of date Wi-Fi USB hub, due to weak security.
Does GivEnergy monitor the posts, I would like their input regarding weak security.

Any news on the lan update for gen 1 users

There isn't a LAN option for Gen1.
A few were special made as samples for a LAN dongle.
This was never converted to a product.

The new secure dongles in development are wifi6 and secure by design. Hotspot can be enabled or disabled.
I may also explore a LAN capable one. As the Chipset supports ethernet interface. Or wifi6
.

Does "secure by design" include security on the link from inverter to AWS? I'm more than a little concerned that could be open to abuse.

TheDragon (GivEnergy) could you post one of them samples, I'm not happy that I have to run my router on WPA, when wpa3 is the most up to date,
my iPhone keeps reminding me that I have poor security
