Octopus, Inverter, Battery

Hi,
I've just switched to Octopus Energy and am currently on the Octopus Flux Import Tariff. They say it'll take a bit more time to set up my export tariff.
If I've read this page correctly https://givenergy.co.uk/octopus/ my inverter should automatically charge the battery when the tariff switches to cheap rate (2am-5am) without me having to set up anything manually.
I've set up the smart tariff in my dashboard via the Octopus API and I can read historical demand (i.e yesterdayand the day before) on my dashboard, so I'm assuming that it's set up correctly. I'm assuming that data is only available at the end of the day.
Do I need to do anything else to the inverter settings? It's currently set to Eco mode.

No, I don't think it's automatic, unless you're on the Intelligent Flux tariff. But it's easy enough to configure it to charge to whatever % you want, at the time(s) you want. Just set the charge mode to be solar+grid, and configure required parameters.

When you do get your flux export tariff, you might be considering setting up an automatic discharge during the peak period, to take advantage of the higher export price - that's unfortunately not quite so easy.

(I'm a little surprised that they've allowed you on flux import without flux export - they are designed to operate as a pair. Unless the delay is just going to be a day or so - I've heard that changing export tariffs seem to cause them some grief.)

Hopefully, it will only be a minimal delay on setting up the flux export but I'll keep an eye on it.

How do I set the inverter to charge solar and grid all I appear to have is a timed charge mode.

Also should I be setting it to charge to 100%.

This is a steep learning curve for sure.

BangorKev eco mode on sorts the solar. Then add timed charge for grid charge.
