I now have an EV Charger, with GiveEnergy Inverted and Batteries. On the Givenergy Browser app I have setup the link into Octopus. Trying to move to a new Octopus tariff - doesnt matter which one it fails when it requires a login to GivEnergy.
Is there a restriction on the GivEnergy cloud I need to alter to allow this to happen?

BTW I checked the password and username on a different device.
Any help is welcome!

Do you have MFA/2FA turned on for the GivEnergy account - if so, maybe try temporarily turning that off?

I don't have 2FA no, I don't know what MFA is

Pete Thomas Pete, I linked the GivEnergy dashboard to the Octopus Flux Tariff I am currently on using instructions on this community forum.

Do you have a link to those instructions? Thanks.

I'm guessing this is intelligent flux your joining if your doing it via the normal Octopus app (as opposed to the R&D app). It's the only one that they want your Givenergy Logins for.
You are aware this is not the same as Intelligent for EVs - there is no cheap overnight rate for Givenergy inverters like for cars and you will be handing over full control of your system to Octopus.

Thank for the insight. I have tried Intelligent Flux and Intelligent Octopus Go for EV's. The GivEnergy charger is not listed and when I try the batteries the error is 'your battery is not connected to the Internet' plus is your username and password correct.
Can I do more on the R&D app?
Thanks

John Mac As you say, the givenergy chargepoint is not support by Octopus Intelligent Go tariff.

The YouTube link just showed how to register in Octopus to Intelligent ????

ie

John Mac I did an internet Search and found this:
See Your Octopus Energy Data in your GivEnergy Dashboard. Use the Octopus API. Simple, Easy Set up.
Link is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8CWZ6_F1tA

Not to worry I'll ring them again tomorrow

I think octopus have cause some confusion by bundling several tariffs under the intelligent umbrella. In the app, it just invites you to register a device, and the tariff is inferred from that, but they are very different.
Maybe the goal is, eventually, you just register all your smart devices and get a bespoke hybrid tariff.

I still can't register for a new tariff - when I try any of them it says the Batteries are not online. Any suggestions please?

Sorry Pete.
I did a search on this forum and found this:
For anyone else who is not too techy-minded. You select Smart Tariff from the Giv Energy App, follow the links to your energy provider and generate a new API key, then copy. Return to smart tariff section and paste in the details. Like anything, really straight forward once you know how it's done!

When I did do this I used my PC as copying the API was easier, as its quite long. Good luck! JM

Hi DD, I talked to Octopus yesterday and they said my Flus outgoing tarrif was stopping me setting up GO and they would have to move me manually. Will let you know! txs

Just signed up to Octopus Flux earlier this evening. When I got the confirmation Email it said that I waas now on the Flux import tariff, but it could take up to six weeks to enable the Flux export side of the tarrif. A bit of a let down if it does indeed take that long.
I'll be doing a test run overnight, charging my battery to 100% to see if it will alter the charge rate to achieve the target at the end time of 04:45.
