At this time of year with off peak electricity until 7.30am it seems sensible to force charge the battery to use after this.
However, the battery seems only to charge to 40 % 6am -6.45 and then discharge by 7.30am when there is an apparent 2.5kW load. At that time car has finished charging, water has heated, dishwasher done and there were only 2 air-airs on drawing 300-400W as they are doing at present. Why does the battery not charge fully until end of off-peak as requested? I'm also bewildered as to what the 2.5kW drain is from 6.45 to 7.15.

What kit have you got

What settings are you on in portal.
Should be-
Eco enabled
Timed charge 00:30-07:30
Timed discharge disabled
Timed export disabled

Go to battery and put whatever % charge and charge rate and discharge rate in you want.
I have 4% battery reserve and on Gen1 Hy5.0 I use 2090W for charge and discharge power

Is that 2.5kW just a spike for something kicking in like kettle.
It may be 2.5kW, but if it just lasts 5 seconds then it is naff all energy.
Is is really flat out 2.5kW for 30 mins. If so that is a lot of juice.
Can you snapshot your power graph to see how much the battery is depleted in those 30 mins

5.22 kWh battery, GIV-AC3.0. 4% reserve, 80% charge. Eco Enabled, Time 06.00 - 07.30 ( after car charge/water heat etc. . We had a mains fuse blow due to amount overnight so we're a bit worried of putting to much in together!). We also found that if we charge battery earlier it seemed to get used straight away which rather defeats the object! Looking at the forced charge I saw that it had an end time of 06.45 instead of 07.30 which I've corrected!. I'll see what happens tomorrow but this morning it definitely charged for 45mins to 40% and then immediately discharged for 35mins at 2.5kW. since there's nothing else could it be that my daughter's car charged up to 06.00 then the battery charged and from 6.45 to 7.20 the battery discharged to the car? It seems odd and not what I expect but I'm a bear of little brain on this!

For the whole time outside the charging period, the battery will be discharging to cover the load. You'd probably rather charge car, water heater etc directly from the grid rather than allowing house battery to discharge into those, then charge the house battery up. Maybe set the battery to charge for the whole cheap period, but reduce the charging rate to 800W or so ?
