I'm sure you guys are aware, but for information I changed over to IOG from OG as the Zappi is now supported, when changing over on line (which was dead simple) my outgoing rate stayed at the 8p rate ie Octopus Go Lite. However you can now change the outgoing to Outgoing Octopus Fixed (or Agile) and get your export rate increased to 15p.
So import from 23:30 to 05:30 at 7.5p and export at 15p....... what's not to like.

Did you have to do a test charge to make the tariff active?
PianSom From what I've heard, with the zappi you don't actually have to charge - Octopus considers it sufficient that they can establish communications with your chargepoint. But for car-based integrations, you do still need to actually do a test charge. Don't know about Ohme/Wallbox integrations.
Hi, no I didn't have to do a test charge....upon switching tariffs, I set the Zappi to Fast Charge, Octopus took control and switched it to Eco+ and gave me a slot that started during peak times to charge my vehicle. I checked and Octopus only charged me at the 7.5p rate even though I was charging at 3pm.
So easy to switch between tariffs, as I said at the beginning, went on line last night and changed to Outgoing Octopus fixed ....checked this morning and sure enough all changed over to the new tariff. If you're tempted to switch just do it, it really was hassle free and you as the customer really benefit...extra hours, cheaper rate and double for export.can't be bad.

Can I ask - how did they "take control"? Did you have to supply an API key for the Zappi, or something?
I started it online, then it tells you to change over and use the App....I then went through the sign up procedure naming the ZAPPI as my charger, picking my car etc Octopus just need to login to the MyEnergi account and that was it, job done, less than 5 minutes.

With Ohme home pro, sign up does include a test charge as the final step which is very quick. You are then told to go to the Ohme app as Octopus isn’t integrated with Ohme yet.
PianSom The Zappi has to be unlocked too - you can't have a pin code to restrict others from using it. That is true if you use the car integration as well.
For what its worth, I prefer the car integration in many ways as you tell Octopus to charge to a specific SOC rather than adding a % of charge. So if your car is at 30% SOC and you want to get to 80%, then you tell Octopus to give you 50% - but tomorrow the car is at 20% you have to add 60% to get back to 80% - where as on the Car Integration, you just say I want 80%. I only change the app if I have a long journey and want to get to 100%. Yes I know you can put the SOC limit in the car to say 80% and tell Octopus to charge 100%, And that will probably get you more 1/2 cheap slots - but that is gaming the system and I am not 100% comfortable with that.
Just to close off, after a long week of waiting for useless Octopus email support I gave in and called them. The issue apparently was that it is not possible to change directly from Octopus Go to Intelligent Octopus Go - you have to go back to the standard variable tariff for a moment and then to IOG. Why they couldn't have told me that by email ...
Anyway. After the telephone support moved my tariff to standard I could sign up to IOG on the app. It said I needed a test charge to complete the change, but then I added my Zappi charger as a device (as Annaka said) by submitting my Myenergi login dets, and within a few mins the change completed without a test charge.
All done and dusted. Thanks, all, for the helpful hints above.
PianSom Glad you got connected in the end, I went straight from OG to IO without the intermediate going to standard .... anyway you're connected that's all that counts, make sure you also get the 15p export rate rather than the 8p on Go.
PianSom I also swapped directly from Go to Intelligent Go (not sure why they made the names so similar). I didn't have to do a test charge and my Zappi is also pin locked...but it's working perfectly.
I went from go to IOG directly too. No issues at all with Octopus (there was with the Skoda servers at the time but that is a different story)
How very strange! The phone agent said he knew what the issue was, and that was what he said it was.
