After several hours of struggling, I realised that inverter firmware D0.450-A0.451 on a Gen1 hybrid is 'old firmware' as far as GivTCP is concerned 😃
If you are setting up GivTCP and the logs (in debug level logging) show a connection to the inverter, but no data being returned, try changing that bit of configuration.

Just try it, and if it doesn’t work, change the setting and restart GivTCP
NiallKilleen Its only the Gen 1 inverters which are classified as "old". Reason is that GE never updated them to include the "new" comms security which G2/3 got last July.
Thanks for the response - i believe my issue is more related to Wifi - the Gen 1 inverter will not connect with my wifi at the moment and therefore not getting an inverter to connect too with GivTCP
