Should the battery charge during a power cut?

We had a short power cut this morning that was scheduled. I was expecting the battery to keep the inverter alive and the PV system to continue charging the battery but that didn't happen. The inverter didn't seem to log any readings when the power was off and the battery stayed at the same level.

The inverter has an EPS output but that isn't wired up, but for it to work the inverter must stay alive when there is no grid power, so I was expecting it to keep recording and charging. It's a Gen3 hybrid.

The inverter would require that your wifi router was up and running in order to be able to upload readings to the cloud. So lack of readings wouldn't itself tell you whether the inverter was running.

We had a short power cut on Monday morning. The portal has data every 5 minutes up to 09:03, then a gap, then a burst of readings every 10 seconds, from 09:22:30 to 09:24:00, then back to 5-min intervals after that. Not quite sure what that's about - is that normal ? (I wasn't in at the time, but everything was back on and running normally when I got home, which is fortunate, since it was a nice sunny day.)

Yes I now realise the inverter doesn't log anything itself, so while the power is off nothing can be logged. The battery level is shown as flat but perhaps it discharged and then recharged to exactly the same level by coincidence as the sun ramped up over the same period. It was only about 20 minutes, so not long enough to be sure.

When we have had a power cut the Gen2 5.0 Hybrid still charges the batteries as long as the sun is shining of course!

Our power is off at the moment as sparks are changing the fuse board. Have powered on my wifi running a long extension from next door. The inverter is powered and sending readings.

Hybrids should continue charging during a power cut, assuming there is enough sun or enough battery left to start the inverter.

Doesn't matter that the EPS isn't wired as far as I know.
