Bug in new IOS App Graph Screen

When you turn the phone to landscape the colours of the icons change and no longer match the trends - when you go back to portrait the colours change back to match the trends (local access is great by the way !)

Its ok on mine.
Local access is good - though I've had it for sometime via Homeassistant - and I can get 10second updates when out of the house too............

rwbarrett Is this app available from the Apple Store App? I downloaded the Givenergy app a few weeks ago and there doesn't appear to be an update on the app store currently. Am I missing out on local monitoring?

Please forgive me for my ignorance - but how do I get "local access" via the "app"?

And what could it do for me if I did?

And lastly - which app are we talking about - the "app" from the App store I look at most of the time which refreshes every 5 minutes or the portal website I can get to via a browser on my iPhone?

wilfleek yes you can and still can.
This is a separate app developed by givenergy to make it easier (at least in theory) to see your system.
When you are on the same network as the inverter (ie in the house generally) then it will switch to calling the api’s locally which means you see near live updates rather than 5minute ones you see on the webpage or when out and about away from home.

What does it give you? Faster updates essentially. So more accurate information more often

rwbarrett actually the grid turns from reddy orange to blue and the battery from blue to white. The lines remain the portrait colours.

Can you see the inverter from the phone on the house wifi (Or the same wifi the inverter is on) - or is the inverter not connected to the wifi?
If you can see your system from the portal (https://www.givenergy.cloud/dashboard) then it must be!

No, I can't see that, nor can I see an option to update in the app store.

wilfleek I asked the question after I updated my phone yesterday morning having been using the (old) app all day. The next time I opened the app after I'd asked the question, it had the new features. Weird!

I am on the same wifi SSID as my inverters but the search function has failed to find them. It'd be much easier if I could specify the host name (ideally) or IP address for each inverter in the settings.

On my Home screen of the updated iOS app, the PV number broadly agrees with the web portal, as does the battery figure, however, the grid figure appears to be the sum of my two inverter grid CTs which are looking at the same bit of cable and is therefore double the actual value.

On my app, there is no animation showing how energy is flowing, so the grid value (albeit double) could be import or export, as could the battery figure. Common sense says that the PV figure is probably generation hehe.

Oh, and the battery figure looks to be half of the actual for the two batteries!

Tim This really is weird. I just raised a bug report regarding the above, refreshed the app screen and animation of the energy flows returned.

Yes, mine does that, and refreshes every 10 seconds. There can be a short "waiting time" for the app to get "up to date" with the local wifi data I find when you fist open it.

Graphics look just as crisp as before, data is no longer rounded up.

The connection to the "local" network is automatic - if it sees the 'phone wifi connection is the same as the inverter's, then it automatically defaults to "local". If not, "server".
My inverter connects to the main house wifi via a TP extender.

My AC3 is on a different SSID to the main house one which my iPhone uses. So initially the app couldn't see the inverter.

Once I forced the phone to use the same SSID as the inverter, the app quickly found the inverter and gave local data. And, the app now finds the inverter even when the phone is on the main house SSID, so I presume that the app has remembered the IP address of the inverter and goes straight to it rather than searching for it each time the app starts up.

(IOS), can't find the inverter for me - seems very quick to say it can't find it.

Mine has done that (i.e reported it could not find the inverter) - I just shut the app down (completely) and restarted it ,and it sorted itself out.

I'm no longer able to use the App on my mobile phone. It used to be fine. Now when I try to open it it just doesn't. I've tried deleting and reinstalling. Any suggestions? It is quite an old phone and I fear that there may be an update incompatible with my phone.

GrahamRead That could be down to your phone signed into a different wifi ssid to the one used by the inverter. I find that happens on mines sometime after being away from the house. Come back and the phone picks up another ssid, I don't remember to check and the app doesn't find my inverter.
