Hi. Today I lost comms (WiFi link) and nothing showing on the app as it couldn't find the system. Battery continued to support the home as normal though. But because I had set the battery to charge from grid during a 2hr free power up from Octopus, I needed to reset the parameters to the normal overnight cheap rate fill. So as a new user, and previously been instructed to use the blue button on the side of the AIO to reset it, I did press it for about 10 seconds and released it. Result, no comms, no battery power. After powering it off via mains breaker I tried several more resets via blue button (pressing for different times) and eventually got it back online and fully functioning.
So reading through various threads on here, I'm left wondering if there is a definitive list of instructions for this reset button. Eg how long to press it to achieve what. I'd would have expected something like that with the welcome pack but that's pretty much unhelpful. Is this documented? If so I'd love a copy.
AIO Resetting Blue Button
Ultima357 When you press the power button on the AIO it make take a while for it to kick back on and it can take a few minutes for inverter to come back online, I usually give it 5 minutes to see if it comes back on.
BUT sometimes that wont do it so I usually press the button til I hear it clunk off then flip the breaker next to it under the cover so it doesn't try to start back up then flip the breaker in the gateway til the dot on the AIO dies then reverse everything I did.
Id try next time holding the power button for about 5s then letting go and wait for clunk to go off, if it doesn't kick on itself you can press the button to start it up manually then try and give it 5 mintues, if still nothing then play hardball with it and kill its power til the red dot vanishes, thats right dave is shutting yo ass off this time 😃 (sry for movie reference, couldn't resist with red light mention) then power it all back up.
Jellybaby Thanks for the info. I did give it quite a time to recover after the reset, and listened to the various relays clunking back and forth, but first time was no go. I have a main breaker beside it so used that to power it down rather than the inbuilt one. I was really wondering if there was a definite guide for the button like 10sec for hard reset, 5sec for soft and momentary for say a Comms reset. Then I guess there's the gateway, not touched that as yet.
