My battery (9.52kWh) has always been set to solar charge mode only and is also in eco mode. As I’ve hardly been getting any solar recently, I’m used to waking up in the morning to see the battery sitting idle at around 6%, but not this morning!
What am I missing here?
Looks like another one of the many SoC reporting errors (forum is riddled with these if you have a search). A firmware update might resolve it, depending on the equipment you have... others here will likely be able to help more than me on the specifics though, I've lost track 🙂

FiferMG4 I think the tracking of SoC benefits from a full charge from time to time. If you have cheap overnight electricity (economy 7 or better), overnight charging is also financially beneficial, unless you have much more daytime use than the battery capacity.
These jumps usually indicate that the battery held more charge than expected, but with so little sun recently, that does seem unlikely. I wonder if the graph of historical voltage over time might reveal anything.
Yes, I agree that the battery and associated SOC readings will have benefited from a full charge. It was just the fact that it appeared to happen instantly, though there’s no way that’s the case. I’m on a fixed tariff, so it doesn’t really matter what time of day the full charge happened. It was more the case that I hadn’t instigated it that worried me. Thanks for replying. Is this the graph you were referring to?
FiferMG4 yes... voltage typically tracks SoC when the battery is idle, but falls under load.
(Thought the MG4 in your username might refer to a car, and therefore that you might have a cheap overnight tariff)
If you're on a relatively recent firmware, pausing the battery for at least 30 mins gives it a chance to run an intropsection cycle, which may improve estimated SoC.
DD Yes, you’re right, it does refer to a car, but as my fixed rate is better than an overnight tariff I’m sticking with that.
