I have now had a GE EV charger for over 4 weeks now, and all has been working fine until I noticed yesterday that it was charger my car out of the scheduled charge times. This means my car was charging from the grid at the most expensive time (NOT HAPPY).
I am octopus go so get the cheap over night tarrif, my EV charger is scheduled to charge the car in those times but yesterday it would not do it.
I always have the car plugged in but no matter what I did it kept charging the car during the day when it was not supposed to. I reset, re-freshed the app and nothing would stop it, unless I unplugged the car. That was not helpful, as I would have to stay up until 12:30am tonight back in and get up at 04:30am to unplug it.
Anyone else had this issue of the charger NOT obeying the schedule you have set?

Yes. It's total rubbish. For me the schedule works sometimes but when it does it delivers 1.5-3kw instead of 7. If I use the car to schedule instead then I get nothing. I think the software is buggy. Also the UI is terrible. It's so unclear as to what the settings all do and how things should be configured.

I have now found out that it is how the app works, it is not as intuitive as you would think.
First it will only follow a schedule when you have selected the “Grid only” option on the app, NOT one of the others like Grid and solar option. Also to get full 7KW you must make sure you set the Amps to full 30amps, the charger/car will not always give you full 7KW depending on the batttery state, and the grid.
