Hi, im looking at installing a Givenergy Inverter and Battery in a walk in cupboard in a bedroom (1m x2m). Does anybody have a similar set up? I was wondering how hot the cupboard will get, also, how noisy is the inverter and will it be heard when someone is trying to get to sleep in the bedroom?

The inverters can get pretty warm so ideally I'd think you'd want to install it somewhere well ventilated. There's a whole thread on here about fitting additional cooling to inverters to keep the operating temperature a bit lower so you may want to have a look at that for some example figures.

granp2 I have a similar situation. The inverters are silent, not even a cooling fan! It gets warm in our old airing cupboard but the volume of air in there keeps the whole space warm rather than hot. I will see how the temperatures go this summer and consider installing an extractor fan ducted to the outside if the general room temperatures get above say 30 degrees. I'm hoping that the PV array will actually help keep the house cooler this summer since the roof is in its shade with an air gap between.

One thing I did do though was install a smoke detector in the space. If anything did go awry, I'd like to know early doors.
