Some of those changes are a direct result of this forum.
In terms of incremental changes, we are particlarly looking at issues with multiple inverters / batteries, and access to the settings pages. Again, many of those based on feedback here. Some enhanced back office features to help the technical team resolve issues more easily,
Several other more significant features in development too, but a slightly slower deployment rate for those

simon_swinburne Mainly to view data in one place. Monitor load, monitor usage. If there is a card on the givenergy dashboard to monitor such things it means I can go to 1 place rather than multiple. My plan is once the zappi is programmed which for me is eco+ mode 24/7 with scheduled boosts for my Go cheap rate times I should not need to check that app again. But it would be good to view the dashboard to check it did draw power over night, as in it actually charged etc etc.

I got a 'free' BP Pulse charger with my car, so I'm guessing that's not in the GE roadmap. If not, and depending on the smart integration, I might change it for Zappi or Sync EV.
all I will say is that if a charger is OCPP standards compliant then that design allows it can be controlled and monitored via standard APIs.....

simon_swinburne For me - I have 2 x EV chargers and the monitoring capability is going to be very helpful as when it is available (my installer has run the CAT5 cable already to be connected) I will (hopefully?) be able to tell the system not to discharge the battery into the home when it sees specifically my EV chargers demanding power. AT the moment it is a bit of guesswork about setting charging for both battery and cars & it is a pain!! Fingers crossed your EV monitoring comes available soon!?
Also I have a Solaredge load / excess Solar hardware that totally isn't working with Giv - as in when there is excess solar, the GIv and Soleradge system get confused - even to the point that the Giv system sometimes dischargers the battery to heat hot water up as the Solaredge sees the battery as excess solar swell!! Anyway, (I have turned Solaredge off!) not an issue in winter but I would love to integrate my hot water heating from excess solar with Giv (I see your product brochure V1.4 has a power diverter in so I will keep an eye out and ask my installer next year maybe).
Can you add any flesh to the bone for EV monitoring and hot water / excess solar (power divert for this)?

FYI, my setup is very low(ish) tech. I have an old solar diverter. That just uses CT clamps for proportional load. No APIs, far too old. I front that with a smart switch that allows me to turn it on / off depending on PV/SOC/Load etc
I dont have an EV so I dont have to personally deal with that, but thats why the inverter no lets you change power output ( yes its manual for now). So its fair to say I have been thinking about solutions and patterns
How are you switching off the SolarEdge? manually or via an API?

simon_swinburne Thanks for the response. The Solaredge App allows on/off/auto for solar divert to hot water so I have just clicked 'off'.
Sykes no, my EVs when I got the chargers were a Zoe from 4 years ago and an Outlander from 5 years ago so both dumb Chargemaster units.

Griff Ah, OK. It was just that the zappi has a programmable feature which prevents battery drain and/or charge, during EV charging. Presumably, the units you have, don't have any such facility.

Im praying my SyncEV charger works with this feature, the 'intelligence' in their own app is pretty poor and no new features seems to be forthcoming... Looking forward to the big reveal!

I wonder do the likes of the Chargemaster EVSE have e-sense capability. . . . ?
I'm trying to work out how their newly released Super Eco Mode could work with the Hybrid inverter and without CT clamps. It will surely just pull from the battery.
Not too much this week that many of you will notice. Still a reasonable number of minor tweaks, and 1 big thing.

Comms has had a few issues to effort has been going there, as well as performance boosts and security tweaks so the foundations had some attention this week.
Our support staff needed some features too. They help us all so they got a few additions to make their life easier.

yes. We have been saying this is coming for a while so just wanted to push out what we have done so far.
This card is now dynamic and will only show items you have eg. wind, hydro, ev etc You can't record those on your account at present so it will just showing our refurbished house, but the foundations are there for the other components too (like the old version)
Dynamic labeling will be coming, so it will surpass the old version in a release or two.
This shouldnt take all your CPU like the old version either

On the energy flow card there is already kWh for load, battery, PV for the current day. Is that what you mean?
On the energy chart you get the same information over days, weeks, months

The power labels are coming. The house picture is effectivly the same as the power flow card. That will have them too in order to get us back to the experience customers have seen previously either in the legecy portal or app.
Does you ASHP have APIs to be able to acces that data? Are you able to push the data if you had an endpoint to push it too? or would you be looking to the data to be pulled?

simon_swinburne My ASHPS is very basic and has no smart config at all. There is a box beside the the water tank that does show energy usage on the screen but it has no data connection etc etc. That is what I meant by "no way to monitor the energy flow" It is a dump system which is annoying! As it is the most energy greedy thing in the house some kind of monitoring would of been nice.

Can't you just put a CT around the feed to the ASHP, then feed that to something which can measure it?
I've not done this before, but having read oodles of geeky stuff about similar things, there's bound to be a plethora of such devices on the market, which can take a CT output, and feed it to software.

I have 2 solar systems at home and I think the AC3 is limited to 2 CT clamps, plus the wiring for my ASHP comes off my fuse board inside my home and my givenergy equipment is all installed outside on the front of my house so running a clamp to the wiring would be nearly impossible and I have no idea what other device I would get to monitor it. Something that exports data as an API to be linked to givenergy would be cool but way outside of my skill set.
Not sure how one would proceed after this, but this would capture the data, which I'm sure could then be transmitted-on to the right place on the GE portal - if & when such functionality became available.

With a bit of research, one could probably find cheaper alternatives, with free software etc.
For example, many Folk already use a free version of Home Assist - with some pretty good results, but that's going away from your wish to integrate the data into the GE mix...

I think what you are asking for is a specific CT monitoring tool made by or compatable with GE kit. A device which GE will be able to capture and log data for you to monitor and have for historic analysis. I get the feeling this type of device may shortly be on the way, to monitor car charge points, so as to allow exclusion for not draining a DC battery. The diverter they have just realeased?? probably can do this also, though you may not need the actual divert feature.
