Earlier today 2023-12-22 at 03:01:36 the battery reports BMS over voltage and Battery voltage low, then an hour later BMS Communication Fail.
Battery Firmware 3015

This is my third battery after the last two have failed completely and been replaced. Most recently Nov 8th 2023.
These notifications are ALWAYS the start of the inevitable battery failure and replacement. I'm tired of going through this dance between GivEnergy and my installer, which usually takes a several weeks, before the battery is ultimately replaced.

One battery failure is unfortunate, two is bad luck, three is a total defective product line.

What battery is it please?

8.2kWh Capacity. Not home right now to get specific model details.

It'll be your battery board in the inverter.
One battery would be unfortunate but 3 means there's something else at play.
I'd get them to swap the inverter this time.

Fun fact. This is the second Inverter. First one literally burnt out.

I’ll hard reboot the battery when I get home. It’ll probably resolve the issue….until it happens again…and again….until the inevitable total battery failure.

I have the same problem 9.5KW battery. Now on idle. showing low voltage. I can't discharge or charge it. I believe it's a BMS fault.

Hard reset of Battery/Inverter does nothing to cure the problem?

Amla Check the DC breaker hasn't tripped first.

I would also check the BMS comms cable in the bottom of your inverter. On older inverters there is nothing to stop the plug coming out or loose and this can result in spurious readings. That you had a BMS comms issue might indicate this is what’s happening to you.

The comms cable is under a black cover on the bottom of your inverter, if you take the cover off the chances are that you will pull the cable out completely. Make sure you put it in the right hole (check the installation manual) as there are two sockets that it can plug into, and you’ll just get different errors in the wrong socket

The connections are fine and the DC breaker on i.e. up position. I also ' exercise' the battery with a full discharge (4%) to export between 16:00 - 19:00 hrs. A couple of times the battery has tripped at 42% when discharging. Re setting the breaker in the past has enabled the battery to work as it should but now it won't and not will a sequenced reboot of the whole system.

My installer has said there is nothing further he could do so I'm just stuck waiting for GivEnergy to get back to me ...4 days now.

I would welcome any update/outcome. Had a new inverter in Feb due to poor installation but now am seeing battery low voltage every day and need to reset the MCD twice a day! Waiting on a visit but any relevant news, good or bad, would be helpful.
