Unexpectedly exporting at full tilt

for the first time in a while the battery got a good charge from the sun BUT since 19:00 this evening the system has been exporting to the grid at full tilt. None of the settings have changed, it is still set to eco and timed charge during cheap rate. The log shows the last API call to set the percentage to charge to during cheap rate at 19:00.

The time of the cloud API and call and the time it started draining at full rate match exactly. Also worrying is it has gone below the min battery charge setting.

Any ideas on

  • how to stop it exporting ?
  • why it started exporting when not requested ?

Sounds like a calibration, either just a calibration or a firmware update with a calibration after it.

Could be the installer doing the firmware update, but probably not that likely.

Could be GivEnergy doing it, perhaps support got the wrong device.

Could be a misunderstood modbus command - the inverter recieving two commands from different sources at the same time and hearing it as a calibration instruction (this shouldn't be possible with newer firmware which has CRC - depends if you have the latest firmware that has that).

Probably not going to be possible to stop it, but could perhaps slow down the discharge a bit, to make sure it doesn't charge up until off peak rate starts (if you have an off peak rate).

locked update managed to stop it by adjusting and enabling / disabling each of the settings including eco. It looks like the API call to change the max charge percent and time incorrectly set the inverted to discharge to the grid. I'll raise a problem with support

TX200 not a firmware update - I updated a while back when 3015 came and batteries calibrated then.

So the web page and/or app said it was in eco, but it wasn't?

I've seen that before. Think I had to adjust some settings in the remote control web page to get it sorted. Toggled a couple of settings a couple of times, to get it back into eco.

I think the web page / app doesn't always know what's going on if something has changed it outside of it's own environment, e.g. home assistant or similar programmatic access.

TX200 my update was too quick its back discharging again and down to 5%. So it does look like a calibration cycle that has been started due to incorrect processing of a cloud API call.

TX200 the unofficial Android app is useful here since it reports the settings directly from the inverter.

it was a calibration triggered at the same time a cloud api call was made to adjust max % to charge to. Waiting on a reply from Giv as to why this happened. Not impressed as it wasted a full battery load and cost to recharge it to 100%.

locked Sounds like the Post Office and Fujitsu!
Must have been your fault............!

locked the good thing is a calibration makes the system a bit better in terms of soc tracking. 🤣

Mine has done the same thing this morning, been exporting at full speed since the timed import stopped at 5:30am. Hopefully it is a calibration, not an ongoing thing!

MarkWilliams Had you sent a command from an external agent at the time ? (Eg do you run Home Assistant or similar.)

The current thinking is that concurrent messages can end up being misinterpreted as a calibration request, but if it was just static timer configuration, that would suggest something else.
