This is from 12 x 390w panels, so totalling 4,680w... Is that not the limit they can produce, or am I misunderstanding how this works? (4,778w is the figure shown on the graph)

chris_p If you dig round for the original datasheet for the panels it'll likely have their rated output at a temperature of 20'C+
They can push out more when colder.
I've one string today that's doing 3521W - It's 9x panels rated at 340W (3,060W)

hoggy I suspected there may be some kind of tolerance due to other factors. I wonder if I'll see 5kWh in the coming weeks!

On days when my panels are cold and the clouds open I've seen 6.6 Kw from my 6.1 Kw system. This is more than my 5kw inverter can handle, so I keep the battery less than 100% full over midday so there is somewhere to store the surplus. Mid summer I would expect around 5kw max as the black panels will be HOT!

The rated output of a PV panel is at a specific solar intensity and a specific temperature. So if the sun is stronger or (more often) weaker than the 'design' value, the panel output will be higher or lower. There is a lesser effect regarding temperature - higher temperatures reduce the panel efficiency (ie output for a given solar intensity).

Panels can do more too, my new 500w panels have a max output of 545w but not for long. Plus cold weather as mentioned.

My 5.2KW system has hit the maximum a few times this week. I was surprised how much KWH I get out of them in the cooler times. My March output figures are comparable with last July when it was installed. (I suspect April will match my December the way things are going
