AIO with Givenergy Hybrid inverter

Can anyone see any reason why I can't have a AIO system with the PV element of the Gateway being my existing Givenergy Hybrid 3.6 Gen2 Inverter (with 5kw of existing battery)? Am I going to get some sort of oscillation between the two inverters when they both see load (or the Hybrid battery charging the AIO which is massively inefficient)?

Linked to this is my concern that the Work modes of the AIO don't seem to allow a dual Solar and Off-peak mode - my ideal work mode would be Charge Off peak (e.g 02.00 to 04.00 for some providers) to say 60% then be in Solar mode after that so the AIO tops up from the Solar during the day, ready for the evening. Not clear this is possible.

This is on the GE blog FAQ from the recent Solar and Storage show notes:

Q: What’s happening with the AIO mixed with AC 3kw and or Hybrid with/without battery?

– AIO with AC3: Although not officially supported, the AIO has been proven to work with an AC coupled inverter on at least 3 installations. Balancing is via HomeAssistant. This type of setup will require specialist support, from the GivTCP community and HomeAssistant.

– AIO with hybrid inverter – no battery: This is supported, using the hybrid as a string inverter.

– AIO with hybrid + battery: This will work, but isn’t supported. The hybrid will charge first from PV. Then once full, the AIO will charge. Some cross charging may occur. At night, the hybrid will continue to discharge its battery (seen as PV by the AIO), until the hybrid battery is flat. Then, the AIO will discharge.

A 3.68 kW inverter won’t charge the AIO particularly quickly. If you wanted to add an AIO and you’re on a g98 system you’d need to do a g99 for the AIO.

Thanks all. Hadn't seen that stuff from the show about combining the kit. I can see that I'm going to need to use Home Assistant to drive the charge, discharge cycles I want - I.e. Charge AIO to x% overnight based on the forecast, then switch it to solar charge mode until the evening when both AIO and hybrid can dump during peak hours.

Related to this, can you control the rate of force discharge of the AIO via Home Assistant?

Got the G98 point too. I assumed I'd need to.
