My EV was charging overnight, this Sunday 7th / Monday 8th Jan. 2024, but stopped at approx. 4.30am & circa 80% state-of-charge of the vehicle’s battery. The unit is ‘Offline’ according to the Cloud Website ‘view’ of my account & within my Smart Phone’s GivEnergy App.

The status of the car, as found that Monday morning, was ‘Initialising’ & this is the permanent situation when the EV Charger has been tried a few times since, this week.

Power cycling the unit from the feeding 32 Amps MCB (allowing for a reasonable power off period) doesn’t appear to overcome this issue & enable an EV Charger re-set. The WiFi link from this device to my home Router does appear to be ‘up’, regardless of this Offljne status.

I have checked that the car will charge (elsewhere, of course!) as well as at home on just the cars 3-Pin (Snail Pace) charger. These all work, so it’s ’not the car’.

Even if the EV Charger is ‘Offline’, as far as the GivEnergy ‘Cloud’ connection is concerned, I’d like to think that the EV Charger would/could/should still work, locally, so as not to leave the EV Vehicle Driver ‘in the lurch’?!? So, I had assumed that the unit was possibly faulted (albeit I have no way of determining the fault via the App or the web-based account view …

BUT, I did note a GivEnergy “Known Issues” within the Web App ‘Notifications’ area having a relatively new record mentioning there was a known ‘Offline’ issue being investigated at this present time … so maybe that is related to my problem/experience too? I have presently advised / raised this issue with my installer too, as have only made use of the EV Charger for about 3-4 charging sessions, so could of course also be an early, unexpected device failure (?) … TBC …

This problem appears to have been fixed. I noted that there was a “Known Issue” wrt ‘some EV Chargers’ referenced within the ‘Issues’ section of the GivEnergy cloud Website. I also saw that my EV Charger was no longer reporting itself ‘Offline’ & was now in a ‘Not Charging’ state. I plugged-in this Sunday evening to see if it was indeed ready to work again & I’m glad to report that it was & is now charging my EV again for the first time since early last Monday morning. Phew!

I seem to have the same problem. New GE charger just commissioned today and worked for about 1 hour before it ended the charge and refused to restart. Shortly after it went offline and remains that way.
Did Help desk do anything to sesolve this or did it reset tiself somehow?

Ditto, offline but still charges my EV. I should not turn the EV charger off and back on at the consumer board to reboot the EV, this is happening a lot at the moment.
