Hi
Can anyone please help/explain. I have a 5kw battery showing as 100% full but when home uses the battery I only get 3.7kw before goes to 4% and back to taking from grid.

Thanks,
Colin

CS The 5.2kWh battery is only 80% DOD, so only has usable capacity of 4.16kWh, less the 4% minimum and conversion losses that's about right

Search on here for 80 dod, there's a few post about it

@cs > simont CS The 5.2kWh battery is only 80% DOD

DOD=depth of discharge

On the 5.2 and 2.6 batteries only 80% of the total capacity is available for use, that's referred to as the DOD. Batteries don't like being absolutely fully charged or absolutely fully discharged so GivEnergy retain 20% capacity so that the battery charge level remains inside its "happy" band.

Newer batteries the 8.2 and 9.5 are advertised as 100% DOD. In reality there is actually more battery storage inside the battery than the published figure so the 100% they give you is actually 80% of the total available.
