Have an A/C inverter with 8.2kw battery. A 12 hour broadband outage has caused the inverter to go offliine so cannot see any data on laptop or 'Away' on App...... but can see current data on 'Home' on App. Givenergy support suggested, and failed

1) take dongle out for 10mins
2) turn inverter off
3) redo the wifi settings as per their YouTube video

Anybody got any other ideas? Surely if i can see the current data on the App 'home' the Inverter's wifi connection is fine. But why is it not uploading to the server?

Not sure if its related.... but my GivEnergy smart plugs have also gone offline and my BT YouView box won't connect to the Internet. Internet is absolutely fine on my laptop and phone though. All very frustrating!!

jeff If you haven't already tried you could try a: 'My Inverter'>'Settings'>'Reset to Defaults' click SUBMIT and make sure you get a positive response, and possibly, even if you have,, try again.

Thanks will try it later. Am starting to wonder if this is all down to the network outage. We have a 4G router, the joys of rural living, giving us wifi and EE had to do a SIM refresh to get it working again. Think is cocked everything up.

Was WiFi running throughout the outage?
I might try: turn off routet and take out dongle; turn on router and allow it to settle; put back in dongle.
I think it's the dongle that manages the cloud connection, rather than code in the inverter itself, but I could very easily be wrong about that.
Did the inverter power down, or did it continue to run from battery while disconnected from grid?
Odd that those other devices also can't connect

Aha cracked it. Its the EE sim. I swapped the sim In the 4G router with my phone o2 sim and things went back to normal. I could see data being sent to Givenergy and my tv box found the internet for the first time in 3 days.

EE did a sim refresh at the end of our 12hour network outage. This somehow removed certain server communication. All odd!! Will discuss with them on monday.

I believe i now know the issue. As I said earlier, we use a 4G router for our broadband which uses an EE sim. After an extended outage certain devices including the A\C Inverter stopped working. After trawling through the Internet I found this may all be down to the IPV4 \ IPV6 settings on the EE antenna..

"IPv4 is composed of 32-bit address length and is the fourth version of the Internet Protocol (IP). IPv6 is composed of 128-bit address length and is the latest updated version of the Internet Protocol (IP)."

"The most common problem with IPv6 is that it can cause compatibility issues with specific devices on your network. For example, if you're having trouble connecting to a printer or another device, you may need to disable IPv6"

I created a new router profile changing it from 'IPV4 & IPV6' to IPV4 only. As soon as I did that normal service was returned. I think the EE Antenna is only allowing IPV6. What I need to find out now is are GivEnergy ony on IPV4? If so this may have an impact going forward.
