Discrepancy between string inverter and AIO

There seems to be about 1kWh of energy not being counted by the AIO for generation today. Does that mean even if the string inverter says 14.9kWh today and the AIO says 13.9kWh that I’ve lost 1kWh of export?

deanjesper There will be some losses as it goes from panels to the AIO system but don't forget the AIO only registers anything above 200w BUT you still get that power, the lost 1kwh will be a mix of anything below 200w and any losses along the way.

Little example

This is from my Solax string inverter, so far solax reports yield today of 13.5 but GE portal reports 12.4, there have been no breaks in production so that is about right

Solax kicks in around 08:10 whilst AIO starts showing at 08:16 so account for production below 200w not showing and any losses as it goes from panels > string inverter > AIO inverter its pretty good.

Jellybaby so on a day where solar generation is say 100w and I’m using 500w (load), I’ll be pulling 500w from the grid instead of 400w?

deanjesper I think you got that a bit backwards, if the AIO sees nothing as its under 200w being generated then you would in that scenario be seeing 400w being drawn from grid instead of 500w if your load was 500w and you was generating 100w.

You can test this by pausing the battery.

Here is an example below and I am on 1 minute intervals between portal updates.

You can see that it drops off around 16:04 but the battery discharge stays below home load because despite it still getting solar its below the 200w where you see info on the portal but when it drops off it doesn't completely cut that PV power being generated and you can see that its not for another few minutes the battery starts being used more and more til finally its running from battery completely.

Sorry guys, I don’t agree this time.

My solar goes from Panels to SolarEdge Inverter, then to the Gateway (read by the meter in Gateway). This information then gets collected by the AIO. So it should be the same.

Any DC to AC conversion to the battery is a different calculation and done by the AIO Inverter.

I would agree with you guys if the panels were wired directly into the AIO Inverter?
