I've lost the data to the dashboard, reading through the threads below it says restart the WiFi dongle but can't see anything like that listed in the guide, have an AIO and solar Edge inverter, solar Edge saying all is fine. How do I reconnect the giv system to the app?
Thanks

With the AIO it might just be a case of powering it all down for 5 minutes and then power back on

Have a search on the forum for Comms issues on AIO and hopefully you'll find the precise details

Unfortunately a lot of folks have comms dropout issue in different frequencies of occurrence but pressing the button on side of AIO and pressing it back on should sort it, its not a network connection issue but a dongle software issue as it got so bad for me on LAN that I was having to power the whole damn thing down every day when a comms fix was put on and its been golden since then.

Only time it dropped is when I was having idle inverter issues and reverting dongle software was one thing that was done to see if it was that, it was not as it still happened (figured out the cause, waiting to hear back from GE about solution) and I lost comms quite quickly after that, I got comms back and asked for fix to be applied again and its been golden since then.

If this issue persists you can request the comms fix when you get it back online.

For wifi I am unsure on how to advise on restarting that by itself BUT can you connect to the AIO's access point and browse the internet, if yes then its likely the comms issue and the system needs either a soft or hard restart as you will see below, if however you cannot browse the internet then its likely a connection to internet issue.

Pressing power button on side of the aio til it clicked off then pressing it again and waiting 3-5 minutes for it to start back up and restore comms was enough so I ended up having to wait for it to click after initial press then flip the breaker in the gateway for the AIO.

I fixed it based on TX200 suggestion, searched comms issue and found basically what you just said, switched it off on the big blue giv button, turned off the two breakers under the aio plastic cover, then cut the main battery power breaker
Waited a minute and restarted and it came back, thanks for the help all.

If the comms are down, is the system still working away in the back ground just not sending out any data? Just that when it came back in the battery was flat and I thought it would have charged up a decent amount with todays sun

Dave_Sw1 oh the system will work absolutely fine and do any charge/discharge you set it just cuts off for some reason the ability to interface with it.

The battery should have charged fine, the battery may display as empty til it kicks on again and can take a little bit.

Next time just try the power button on side of the aio and waiting for about 5 minutes, might save the hassle of flipping the breaker in the gateway, if you have an IHD you can tell if the battery kicks back in easily as it switches from grid to no grid.

If this issue crops up often for you I would suggest reaching out to GE whether it be via support email or social media, facebook seems to be quite efficient and asking for the comms fix for the AIO.
