Solar really gets a hold of you once it's up and running. We are always on the app.
Sad, but the highlight of the morning is when the batteries are fully charged!
What about a happy sound on the app when this happens?

An Alexa song

It would be useful to have some notifications from the app for a variety of situations. Battery full/empty would be handy (or a configurable warning level). It would be particularly handy to have notifications for timed events such as mode switches.

Happy music for a full battery would be good though - "Walking on Sunshine" seems an appropriate choice...

an email for an issue would be nice too

All of the above could easily be turned on and off with a lightweight "developer mode" as well so that average users don't get flooded with notifications, emails etc. I'm sure I'm not alone here being the type of consumer who wants to constantly monitor everything 😆

MRich I agree the rest of the household less keen on the alerts... Having experimented with Alexa warning notifications for our car charger connection status and spooked everyone when it suddenly pipes up.

I think the team was working on this, as per https://community.givenergy.cloud/d/45-app-progress-vs-website-beta/10?

It would be nice to have notifications when:

  • the battery is charging and hits X% (i.e. 90%, so it is close to full)
  • the battery is discharging and hits %X
  • the battery is full
  • the load power is more than X kWh

With @hoggy 's help over the last few weeks, I can easily achieve this now with my Loxone home automation system.
I can send push notifications for any value, and i could in theory now trigger text to speech messages to announce that the battery is full, or even trigger a playlist.

To sum up, have a look outside the box can you use something else to get the information or your sound that you require?
