Installer retired - completion of commissioning?

We have an existing FIT system and in 2022 installed an AC inverter and battery system, which works well. A hybrid inverter, panels(in a different location to the FIT system) and another battery was physically installed but not commissioned at the end of 2023, but the installer involved has retired due to ill health and communication is not now possible.

Can I use another installer to commission the installation and possibly certify with MCS? Are there any maintenance level implications with the existing AC inverter system? Is there a way of transferring the maintenance account on the inverter, or is this not necessary?

This must be a reasonably common occurrence, as firms close down etc, I would have thought.

Any advice and info appreciated.

CleoBattery Have you tried asking GE support? Probably the best place to start.

My original installer dropped off the MCS list but did not tell me until I asked for MCS certificate so i could export.
I found and paid an MCS installer to come and check everything was good and do the paperwork - which he did.
All sorted and fine

Look up locally and talk to them to explain. Most contractors are good and want to help. GE support may give you a name of someone local to you

It does seem to be a problem with the "approved installer" and "cloud operation" ways of operating. When they all work, it's simple. When any part of the system breaks, it's a nightmare. 'twould be nice if there were an 'intelligent independent' option for the various systems.

I'm wondering about this too. My system was installed a month ago, but does not seem to have been commissioned. The installer left without setting up a WiFi or hard-wired connection, despite me specifically asking for the latter. I am told I will receive paperwork and a log-on to use the system 'soon', but as they haven't connected it to the internet I can't see how I will be able to use it.
So I'm wondering too if I need to get someone else in to complete the process....

Please reach out to support, there will be potential warranty issues and the system will not be operating properly and run the risk of batteries running flat if it's not commissioned. The system should be turned off until such time
