Max PV Power Output

I have a 14 PV panel system connected to a GivEnergy 5kW hydrid inverter and 8.5kWh battery, which was installed October 2021. The PV panel's maximum output should be 5kWp when installed in perfect conditions, 30 deg roof pitch facing due south (my system is not and I would therefore expect a max of 4.5kWp). The inverter is rated at max 5kW output. However, on several days during March and April the Cloud Portal Power Graph has displayed peak PV power of 5.4 kWp. Both the PV panel setup and the inverter spec suggests I should not be able to attain this value, implying a measurement error.

Can anybody throw some light on this?

Bluebeef It was pointed out in another topic that the panel output will be quoted at a specific temperature and that, below that temp, the panels are likely to be more efficient. A pleasant surprise as it slightly compensates for the worse than usual daylight in winter which is nice.

MRich I think it's more that the panel output is quoted for a standard luminance value and that if you happen to exceed that because of the position of the sun and the lack of clouds, then panel output will be higher.

We have 12kWp of PV and two 5kWh hybrids and a couple of times last week, we saw a total generation figure on the portal of 12.4kW for a few 5 minute intervals. As soon as the batteries and EV finished charging, the inverter output ramped down to supply the washing machine and export 3.6kW to the grid.

For the 5kW Hybrid it's 5 + 2.6 on the DC side.
It's capable of 7.6 if you really wanted but only if it's charging the battery at the same time. Once the batteries are full PV will be limited to 5kW.
I've had 6kW out of my array a few times until Battery is charged up.

hoggy I have instances where the PV power output is 5.4kWp when the battery is 100% and the total house load is 250W. This doesn't imply the inverter is limiting it to 5kW?

No, it's very much a temperature function.

Bluebeef is that with the battery actually fully charged or just it saying 100%.
Mine often runs on for a bit at a trickle until it truly is full (but I have an older battery so they may not do this anymore)

Are you saying the grid export was 4750 at this time?
So indicating 5400 W DC input, 250 W AC house load and 4750 AC export.
The 400 W lost is only 7.4% of the DC input, so could be explained by inverter losses along with measuring tolerances on the DC and AC metering.
