I'm new to GivEnery only having my system in a few days. Like everyone on here in the first week, I'm logging in a lot!! LOL.
I keep getting locked out of Solcast as it's had more than 10 API requests in a day. I don't click refresh 10 times and I don't think I even look at the Solcast card 10 times but still locking me out.
Does anyone know when it does an API request? Is it every login to the Portal?
I think it is every time you refresh or load the Dashboard.
If you have more than 1 roof configured in Solcast then that will count as 2 api requests (1 for each roof).
I rarely use the dashboard - I go straight to the inverter page and only go to the dashboard once or twice a day to look at the Smart Tariff card.

Yes I have 2 arrays so I get 5 visits!! Why can't it just read once a day and remember it!

If I remove the card will it still use my API quota?
You won't get any predictions if you remove it but I do not know about the card, I doubt it would but you could always generate a new API key if you continue to have issues.
Chaz The solar forecast does update during the day.
But you’re right, the way the portal is written you can use up your API quota very easily. I deleted solcast off my dashboard and only use it now from Home Assistant where I can control the API call frequency myself.
TBH I don’t use the portal much anyway. I go direct to the inverter page if I need to do anything.
