Is Active Power likely to be cause of my PV generation being clipped

Hi,
I'm a homeassistant newbie and recently setup predbat to manage my system (Gen1 5kw hybrid inverter, Gen 1 8.2 kw battery, 5.6 kw pv array, no ev, octopus agile import, octopus fixed export).

I noticed that my solar generation was being clipped at 3.3 kw today. Paul Landregan identified this was because the inverter power was set to 64% and set it back to 100%. I had previously shutdown homeassistant and undertaken a hard shutdown/restart of the inverter.

I suspect homeassistant givtcp/predbat caused the issue, so don't want to restart homeassistant until I know what to look at. Looking at other posts it looks like I need to check the active power setting. Is that correct?

I assume you are referring to number.givtcp_xxxx_active_power_rate ?

This isn’t something that predbat sets. I’ve checked on my HA/predbat setup and it’s been 100% since the beginning of time.

If you are worried about it, just disable the entity in home assistant, or set to non-visible. Its possible you knocked it when scrolling through the long list of entities on the default dashboard which is easily done, have done it myself

geoffreycoan Thanks for feedback. Yep I did wonder if I'd accidentally changed the setting. I'll have to boot up homeassistant assistant to check if that is the case. Gulp. ;-)

jmccar23 I don’t have this entity on any of my custom dashboards, and don’t think I would use it, so set mine to hidden after this as it could have significant impacts if accidentally set.

You can usually see in HA history when the entity was set, and then if you were bored cross check the time stamp to Predbat logfiles 😴
