Good morning. I don’t know what is going wrong but yesterday night when I checked the app it showed that the grid was changing my batteries?? This morning both my batteries are at 100% and are not discharging at all? Any idea why this could be and how to solve the problem please?🙏

Geminiem If you have enabled it, the app has a 'quick settings' button at the bottom. One of the options it offers is 'charge now'. I imagine that if you pressed that, and did nothing to cancel, it might behave that way?
As an experiment, you could use the quick settings button to active 'discharge now', just to make sure that it is all (still) capable of discharging.
(I just hide the quick settings button - I can't really imagine an occassion when I'd need to do any of the things it offers. I'm not sure how it actually implements charge-now when you press it.)

Perhaps take a look at the activity log - at the bottom of the remote-control section of the inverter on the portal. That may show that one or more settings have been changed recently, and so point to what has happened.

(Do you use Home Assistant, or wonderwatt or any other agent.)

I leave the quick settings visible as it’s an easy way of forcing the battery to grid charge or discharge, e.g. in a special pricing session or saving session.

But horses for courses.

To answer your question, what it does when you do a quick charge it sets the charge start time to 00:00:00, the charge end time to 23:59:00 and then it sets the inverter mode to Charge.
For discharge much the same, it sets the discharge start & end time and inverter mode to Timed Export
For Play it sets the inverter mode to Eco (but doesn’t change any of the start or end times set).

Easiest way to reset it all back to normal is ‘reset to defaults’ in the portal

geoffreycoan We don't seem to get any powerups in our area. And for savings sessions, I find it much easier to schedule a timed-discharge for that hour, ahead of time, rather than having to remember to press a button at both start and end.

Does sound like quick-setting charge-now would explain OP's symptom, though of course there are plenty of other ways of getting odd behaviour.

II’m still having issues I’m afraid, I hadn’t ever used or seen the quick settings button before yesterday, so I enabled it and managed to discharge the batttery. However I can’t get it to charge now!!! Is there a help number or something I can call as I never had any information or instructions on the app or system when it was installed! It’s crazy the guys said it’s up and running and then left. I did ask how or what I had to do and could they explain to me, but they said we don’t do that we only install….. I’m getting frustrated and concerned that I will cause a problem with it if I do the wrong thing. Thank you in advance

Geminiem Yeah, there is a bit of a lack of documentation. If you haven't already seen it, there is a knowledge base at https://kb.givenergy.cloud/category.php
You might find the portal guide and the app guide helpful. Oh, and I see there's a welcome pack.

If you had left the battery discharging, and didn't undo it with the play button, then that would probably stop the battery charging. When you press the 'gears' icon in top right of app, you get to the system settings. Down at the bottom right, there's a cyan circle with an = symbol - pressing that should (I think) restore settings to their default values, which should undo any changes you've made. So you should be able to experiment with the settings to see what they do, and this should allow you to undo if necessary.

There's also a log of the changes you've made on the portal - that can help us to help you to undo things if necessary.

Geminiem I found out very quickly that installers don't seem to know how to run the system, to be fair the boss does, but the electricians that did the installation didn't have much of an understanding at all.
I was lucky I had time to do a lot of research whilst waiting for the installation so I knew what I needed to do from the start.

I'm guessing that your install was completed yesterday as you've only recently registered here. In which case your current problem it may be that last night the battery calibration that is part of the commissioning process was running and its not left the system in the state you require. The calibration empties the batteries and charges them up.
You should have a notification in the portal indicating the task is complete. If it hasn't completed talk to your installer.
If it has completed the using the portal select My Inverter and look at the Settings tab. The easy way to resolve many problems is the reset the settings to defaults and then amend them to what you want.

DD has pointed you to the documentation.

If you need support the first port of call is supposed to be your installer, failing that contact Givenergy support directly - support@givenergy.co.uk

Of course there are also lots of friendly fellow owners on this forum that will try to help - but there are lots of different systems, software versions and use requirements so we might jump to the wrong conclusion occasionally.
