What are people using for Smart Plugs that will measure the energy an item has used for monitoring in Home Assistant energy dashboard?
I’ve got GivEnergy plugs. They work great in the GivEnergy app but won’t connect to Home Assistant. I connected one direct last night to the Smart Life app. I could see it in Home Assistant and control it but couldn’t see any power data entities.
I also have a https://amzn.eu/d/aO5PhY6 power meter which natively connects to the smart life app. Again I can see this in Home Assistant can control it but can’t see energy or power data.
What products are people getting good results with?

Most of my smart plugs are Tasmota plugs from mylocalbytes. They have been rock solid, and unlike some of the other cheaper plugs (such as the GivEnergy ones) are rated at 16A so you can run high load appliances through them - see other recent post about a GE smart plug catching fire. They were recommended by others on this forum.
I have a few a TP Link P110 smart plugs and a TP Link KP303 multiway smart plug. Not had any issues with any of these either.
I would avoid any Tuya plugs as Tuya ideally connects via their cloud. There is a Tuya local integration but I found it hard to setup and then it wasn’t full functionality for my Tuya alarm.
Avoid Athom, very variable customer reviews.
I have two Shelly Energy Monitor (CT clamps) monitoring 2 circuits each. Expensive but very easy to setup and use.

geoffreycoan is it these? They only seem to be 13A for UK ?
pacemaker Yes that’s the right ones. The internals are 16A but the max rating of a UK plug socket is 13A so can only be sold as a 13A device here.
Continental wiring is rated as 16A because the house wiring is fan-out from fusebox to max 3 sockets, not a ring main.
@Chaz After using them for several months I found the time zone was set wrongly on them so the ‘electricity used today’ was resetting at 11pm not midnight. Its an easy fix, I’ll post it as a separate forum item

Another vote for the Mylocalbytes ones. Cheap, they work well and integrate into HA. I personally wouldn't run massive loads through them.

+1 for MyLocalbytes, the only ones I use now. I use the esphome versions though as I've not got any other tasmota devices and it's easy to add/remove bits of code running on the plug with esphome. It is of course just personal preference
