So I was looking at how to use excess without pumping into the grid. The batteries are too expensive at the moment to include more so I was looking at heat etc
I found the following and wondering how these would work with the GIVenergy system. I have a 19 panel system with a 2.6kWh battery, Eddi and Zappi installed.
Would the wifi control system they use to detect excess conflict with the GIVenergy system? or any idea if it could integrate?

With the Zappi, Eddi and battery, how many days a year will you have excess energy for a storage heater and actually need the heat? A few days in March, April and September, maybe? The price of a second battery may be higher but the battery in your system is undersized by current capability and the return on investment would appear to be far better.
Are you heating your water with excess solar power via an iBoost or similar?
In truth, your battery looks to be too small for the kW of the panels you have installed. We have only 5.4kW of solar and 2 x 5.2kWh batteries and on a full sunny day like today, they are at 100% charge by noon.
One option is use home assistant or another home automation system to turn on an immersion heater or something on However the appliance is either just on or off so will take it's full power consumption rather than variable against your excess power. That's got me thinking, I wonder if you could run a basic heater like this on a variable transformer "dimmer" which could be set by the excess!
We have the system set to heat the water after the battery is full. I had a budget so instead of more battery I put up more panels.
The car is rarely at the house during the day so can't fill up that battery.
At the moment it gets dumped to the grid so was thinking about an option to store the head and use later, the heater is a 7kWh as a base so that would take some of the excess anyway and then release when we get home....
jd based on the videos this will only take the excess....most heater if you turn on it will just burn the power and not just waht the excess is....
PLus it is heating the room then, when you are not in most cases. So if this stored it could release at nighttime when you actually need
