Initiated last night and completed successfully. All user settings were retained with the exception of Battery Charge Power which reverted to 3000W and had to be manually reset to my preferred value.

First observation is that when target battery "charge to" percentage is reached, the maintaining charge/discharge has been increased. On 203 this was around 60W and on 204 it is now around 95W. (Interestingly the earlier 202 release included code to reduce the oscillation, so I hope that this is not an unintentional overwrite of the earlier change).

Second observation is that the battery charge power used is two steps higher than that requested. Applies to battery charge power set via both portal/inverter/settings/battery options and portal/inverter/remote control. Of course this means that it is not possible to stop battery charging by setting charge power to 0.

Third observation. On the fly SOC "correction" (initiated under conditions of low charging power and displayed SOC less than 80%) continues to cause large drops in displayed SOC.

#5 Woodstock

Fourth observation. When discharging the battery from 100% displayed SOC it continues to be the case that recharge is not possible until the displayed SOC drops below 99%.

Woodstock Another quality release then?

Vestas To be fair some of the above observations relate to historical BMS issues and I would not necessarily expect them to be fixed in an inverter update; but we live in hope. πŸ™‚

Woodstock True but allowing errors like the battery charge power to be introduced/remain isn't stellar QA πŸ˜‰

Woodstock yes, I was very disappointed to see that on reaching target charge (100%) there are periodic 450-500kW charging events every 14 minutes, each lasting approx 4 minutes. It seems like there is a lot of energy being wasted.

Don’t know how long it will be till the AC coupled revisions are available to download/instaall. I know they are doing them in stages, but nothing appeared yet for me

sunnyjoe That's interesting. When I use 100% as the target "charge to" value the battery just goes idle for the remainder of the charging period once it hits 100%. It only oscillates between target % and target+1% for target values 98% and lower. What charging power are you using during your timed charge period?

Woodstock 100% power (3kW). Strangely, last night (after posting the above) was the first night since the inverter firmware update when these charging oscillations were absent

had this version installed on Tuesday during an engineer visit to check out my 8,2 kWh battery and am now getting a 20% divergence in SOCs between this and my 5.2 kWh battery - has anyone else seen this on this firmware?

Had my AC3 upgraded remotely via support. The only negative obsevation is that i can't turn the charge rate to zero to stop PV charging battery. I'd rather export the PV.

I don't know if I should push the upgrade button or not as i'm in the beta program. Always avoided hitting the update button.
