I just had my solar with AIO installed and noticed that it’s always exporting a small amount of electric! It’s around 10w when the battery is powering my entire home! Occasionally it will also import from grid directly to house when battery supplying the entire house.
What’s the purpose of this?

It's well know for this mate, mine, and everyone's does the same

Sometimes it mite even export a small amount to the grid instead

It's normal, but i forget the why, it's nothing to worry about

MrBonks Its just communicating/handshaking and balancing with the grid and any large numbers seen in snapshots is just a badly timed info update as something that consumes a lot of power goes on/off.

Here is last year when I was still keeping VERY detailed info on the system, you can tell when I was running off just battery quite easily.

I have an AIO as well and apart from teh shower being the only thing that goes over 6kw on power draw there is very minimal grid usage when I can keep topping up via solar, its just a bit of chatter to make sure everything is ok.

Looks like my lowest for a 24hr period was 0.114kwh which works out to .004 per hour, there was a few rough days in August lol
