Tariff Automations on Octopus Intelligent Go - Does it do this?

My setup is a GE Battery (9.5kW and AC Inverter) and I have a Wallbox charger. I am currently on Octopus Go and for the last year have had both the battery and charger set on manual timers to charge between 00:30 and 04:30.
The car charges during this time from the grid at cheap rate and the house runs off the battery during the day. All is good. I have my Octopus account details setup in the GE portal although it just seems to show me the rates I am paying and I don't have solar (or a desire to go down the Home Assistant route)
I am now looking at moving to Octopus Intelligent Go and clearly my concern is those bonus sessions kicking in during the day and thus discharging the battery
So does the Tariff Automation section of the portal do anything with OIG and importantly, does it/can it prevent battery discharge during those bonus cheap rate periods (or even recharge during those periods)?

I don't think so. Though I've never been offered tariff automations for IOG. (There was a post recently from someone where, it turned out, a Go integration was overriding the charge limit setting to 100% just prior to the cheap period.)

The simplest option is to get the wiring configured so that the Wallbox supply is taken from the tails before the CT clamp for the inverter - that way, the inverter simply doesn't see any charging activity, and has no reason to discharge the house battery.

Unfortunately, my Zappi wasn't wired up this way. Some people simply ask for the car to be ready by 0530 which reduces the chances of ever getting bonus periods. To me, this rather violates the spirit of the agreement, by artificially constraining when Octopus can charge the car.

My compromise is to ask for the car to be ready by 7am (when we normally wake). Since house load is very low until then, I set the inverter to a very low max discharge power - 250W or so - which is enough to cover the normal base load, but if the car does charge after 0530, there will be minimum power taken from the battery, and most will come from the grid. I don't currently do anything to actually take advantage of the extra slots.

This would also kick in if the battery was already above the max SoC configured for the AC charging - as I'm sure you know, the battery will in this case discharge as normal during the charging window, until it gets down to the target SoC.

(I just use simple scripts via the API to adjust power level, rather than using Home Assistant.)

I think daytime bonus charging slots are pretty rare. (The Ohme chargepoint is a bit easier to game, since it's Ohme, rather than Octopus, that does the scheduling.)
