Any EV Charger/Intelligent Go integration progress?

Curious to know if there has been any progress with the GE EV Charger and Octopus Intelligent Go (IOG) integration?

Currently I have the original Ohme smart cable, which I use to charge both my MG ZS and Skoda Enyaq 80 (I have it configured for the ZS and just half added percentage charge for the Enyaq, since it's battery is 2x the ZS). Currently we alternate charging either EV, or try and bag some extra IOG slots for the Enyaq when Agile rates are looking low.

I love the idea of adding a second charger, with GE solar/battery integration, with a captive lead, which I can use to charge either EV on Intelligent Go. However, without IOG integration, I can't justify the outlay.

I know it's been coming soon for a while and perhaps the ball is in Octopus's court...

MrWobling there was a question about this in the latest @TheDragon (GivEnergy) interview on YouTube. Basically GE have done everything their side, it’s now with octopus. So how longs a piece of string?

We use the Givenergy Charger with Octopus Go tariff (non intelligent version) and it's only 9pkw at night so not that far off the Intelligent prices anyway....and no faff!

GethD But IOG also gives access to better export rates. In fact, gives an entirely different way of operating your system - rather than trying to maximise self-consumption on standard Go, you want to maximise export on IOG (if your battery is big enough, and you're not on deemed export).

DD I tried to get intelligent Go for around 2 weeks, was back and forth with Octopus support on the phone, no one could help or understand why I wasn't able to get it working! Shame they didn't have the info just to let me know it wasn't yet compatible with the GE Charger!!! Thanks to this forum I now know....but once it's compatible/working I'll switch as yes I want in on the 15p export price.

I too am patiently waiting for Octo Intelligent Go compatability for the GE EV charger.

At the moment, i'm using the IOG compatability of my Cupra Born, but the VW API is super flaky, and after recent events with JLR cutting IOG compatability from all the Land Rovers with zero notice, i dont want to be at left with at the whim of the car company to have access to the excellent IOG tariff...

If you're not strongly tied to Octopus, EON Next Drive sounds like a good alternative: about 8p overnight for 7 hours, and about 16.5p export (those may have changed for April price cap).

Not sure that IOG allows more than one vehicle at the moment?
I have the GE charger and currently can only use it on Plug & Go. This is partly because my EV (Smart#1) can't accept external charge schedules - scheduling must be done by the car. Leaving it plugged in and not charging doesn't work.
So - I am on Agile which in my experience since Dec 2023 has cost me 13p/kWh on average, based on usage for an ASHP and charging 19kWh of house batteries managed by MyEO.
So I never use any power during the peak 1600 -1900 but have 21 hours at an average cost of 13p.
I can charge the EV at almost any time apart from the 3 peak hours. much more convenient than overnight.
Also on Agile FIxed export at 15p.

So my usage is approx as follows - in round figures:
Annual demand 12MWh (including running all winter heating and the EV)
Annual generation 8MWh (from 24 panels exporting surplus at 15p)
Net cost 4MWh at 13p = £520 p.a.

This is to heat a 4 bed house and run the EV for 10k miles p.a. Previously running the gas CH and a diesel Merc was costing about £6000 p.a. And the ASHP cools the house in the summer which the gas CH struggled to achieve (!).

So I would suggest getting the Octo Compare app and using it to compare the historic costs of Agile for your usage with your OG tariff. Not perfect but may give you a steer on what to do if IOG doesn't materialise.

Probably only if you are using a car integration. If you are using the EVSE integration, Octopus don't need to know what sort of car is plugged in.

Oddly Car integration is the less risky way if you have two cars, you only register the one car and so they don't know what your doing when charging the other one, whereas some chargers would register two cars in the handshake and could feed that back to Octopus.
