Why is it exporting to grid when battery not 100%

The app is showing it is exporting to three grid even though the battery isn’t yet fully charged. I have no setting set to instruct it to export and it’s not tariff related. Any ideas? See screenshot from App

My system was showing similar behaviour between 10:30 and 11:30 this morning.

Generating 5Kw, battery at 85%, but only showing charging at 320W with the rest going to the grid.

It then corrected itself, and the battery shot up to 100% over a 10 minute period.

I suspect it was some logging issue rather than reflecting the actual behaviour.

Mine doing the same - just trying a re-start to see if it will top up battery. - Something amiss here as the web portal shows same info as the app - the battery packs show as full when looking at physical battery packs -

Re-start has not sorted it - Battery packs showing at 85% and idle - yet getting full solar being exported when it is should be being dumped into batteries. - Yet physical batteries - lights outside show as full - so maybe a reporting issues and they really are full?

Since 11:09 ish it has been sat at 85%? - But solar is full on generating...

I have via the Phone app left a bug report - I suggest others do so that they can pick it up in the morning when support get in. I hope it is just a comms failure and Battery is working behind the scenes but it doesn't appear to be that as my demand and solar generation is being shown accurately on the app and the web portal....

M_J You won't get any response to bug reports for the apps or portal so don't bother.

At 98%, the battery can only accept charge at a reduced rate. So it it still charging, but more slowly.

THe system seems to have a lot of trouble tracking the true SoC. The battery chemistry is such that the voltage is very flat over a wide part of the charge range. The charge rate was probably reduced because the voltage was getting close to the upper limit, even though the estimated SoC was a bit lower. But then it must have decded that no, it really is full now, and it jumped the SoC up to 100%. It's only really when the battery gets full or close to empty that the voltage curve changes, and the BMS is able to improve its estimate of charge level. At other times, it's really just guessing, presuambly from tracking energy in and out, etc.

Mine is still at 85% and not discharging. I tested using my home energy monitor and switched on the heating element in h/W tank. The GivEnergy app correctly recorded the right energy drain same as my energy monitor. No battery discharge kicked in so looks like something has caused it to fail. The restart seemed to be logged ok but no change to the inverter to get it working. I will phone support in the morning.

I am on 3012 firmware so behind but after reading folk suffering when updating I have chosen to avoid that. Maybe a recalibration will solve issue?

Perhaps check the eco flag - turning that off disables both solar charging and dynamic discharging. Best to actually turn it off then on again, just in case the portal has got out of sync with the inverter. (Or if you're on Android, check with the 3rd party inverter monitor app https://givenergymonitor.wixsite.com/tutorials

DD thanks just tried that, no joy... Very odd never done this before and I can't think of anything odd this morning that would have upset it...

Looks like a support call in the morning...

Joy...

What voltage is the battery showing?
