Static IP for invertor

Hi there,

Does anyone know how to change the ip of the GIV-HY3.6 inverter from being DHCP assigned to a static ip?

Yes, you set it in your Wifi router. Its the router that allocates the IP address so its best that you change it there (precise instructions will depend on your particular router).

It is sometimes possible to set the device to a static IP address but if the router doesn't know about this it could well just reallocate that address to another device, so hence advice to do the config in the wifi router

It's the DHCP server that manages address reservations. That might be running on one's Internet router. The WiFi access point, if built into the router and if used, is a completely independent thing.

mrand31 Yes fine, very pedantic. For most people the wifi access point, DHCP server, router are synonymous.

I gave advice to answer the OP's question. Thought that was more useful than asking for a network topology schematic. If you are capable of setting up your home network to have a separate DHCP server then you'll already know how to configure IP address allocations and what subnet masks mean
