Hi,
Just had a Givenergy Gateway and AIO battery fitted, which is connected via Ethernet only. Is there any way to get the App to update quicker than every 5 minutes?
I realise that this would most probably require the use of WiFi via the Gateway, but can't find out 'how and if' you can run both at the same time?
Would appreciate any help with this.

Sure is. Go to the “hamburger” three lines top left, then Setting, Local Monitoring. If you have a funky network setup then put in the ip address of the AIO (not Gateway). Otherwise it should find it automatically
Jeff01 It is a good idea to make all your solar TCPIP addresses 'reserved' via your Broadband Router.
Occasionally the local TCPIP addresses (168.192.x.x etc) change and my apps have had difficulty finding them again.

Must admit I had missed that Local Monitoring option. Unfortunately, when I scan for my Inverter nothing comes back. Does the AIO Battery have WiFi built in and does it have to be enabled? I would say that it does have WiFi as I can see under the General Tab it has a WiFi Serial number.
It also doesn't seem to display an IP address anywhere, I presume that I would need to enter the WiFi key somewhere within either the App or Desktop application for it to be issued with an IP address?
If it is hardwired via an ethernet cable you don't need to give it a Wifi password. Ethernet will just connect and your DHCP sever will allocate it an IP address, Usually the DHCP sever is your Wifi router and you will have to access the admin page of that to see the list of devices and their ethernet addresses.
nophead Many thanks for this, I just got it stuck in my mind I had to do it via the WiFi! Once I found the AIO's IP address and plugged into the App, I could connect via the home button and Bingo it started reporting every 10 seconds!.

You may want to "lock" the ip address of your AIO in your router. (If you don't then the address used by the AIO may change, and the local app access will then need to be reset.)
How you fix the ip address depends on what router you are using, but a search on google should sort you out.
BTW, you should also make sure that your installer has locked down the wifi on both your AIO and Gateway. They should have done, but sometimes it gets forgotten - it was for me. Go and stand near your AIO and your Gateway with a phone, and see if it can see any new wifi networks (mine were called WJxxxxxxx and WKxxxxxx respectively IIRC). If you can see if you can connect to them and get internet access. If you can then they have been left open for all comers to use. Post back here and someone will tell you how to secure them
PianSom Thanks for this, will fix the IP address and check the security tomorrow. Also thanks for the heads up on using the IP address of the AIO Battery, would have gone for the Gateway!
