Just been on the Octoprice app (not been on there for a while and found a new beta Tariff Hopping)
It’s indicating Octopus Agile is now better than Flux.

I have watched Gary does Solar and got an email from Richard from My Energy Optimiser, they both say this as well. One slight change (but it is a personal preference) would be to go for the Outgoing Fixed @ 15p (against Agile average over the year 7.5p).

Thanks for highlighting this, I couldn’t remember the app name. Got it going for me now.

@Daveb01 If you click the pink arrow next to the tarrif you can change from Outgoing Agile to Outgoing fixed.

I don’t have a full year of data (joined June, export from August) so can’t do a full comparison, but its showing me Flux is only better than Agile+15p outgoing in the summer which is what I figured.

If I compare Agile+Fixed 15p outgoing to Agile+Agile Outgoing

It shows several months that it predicts agile outgoing will be cheaper than agile fixed which I find surprising

And then there’s negligble overall cost difference which doesn’t match with the detailed breakdown 🤷‍♂️

This is really useful. @geoffreycoan, yes interesting that it predicts agile outgoing will be cheaper than agile fixed.

for my usage (we are away for most of the summer), it's saying that Agile import and Intelligent Flux export gives the best return:

Although my historic data was before I was using PredBat. I think PredBat should improve on this...

James L you can't have flux or intelligent flux export without the same flux import.

TX200 Good point, thank you for reminding me.

Possible combinations are here

If you have a battery with very large capacity and high output, then Flux Outgoing will be exploitable by force exporting at peak rate. Of course, you are a bit limited by your appliance usage. If you happen to use the oven in that period it will affect your earnings. I think most people would prefer a hands off approach to managing export and so the Outgoing Fixed is always going to be the one to pick.

I have to say - loving the "Data Checker" page. Designed, apparently, to show if your smart meter is not passing data. But actually provides a great heat map visualisation of gas/elec import/export hour by hour, for any month.

(Really shows up that Predbat for me has been madly obsessed with exporting at 7.30pm since 1 March for some reason ...)

Well worth looking at to get an overview of what you have been up to.
