Forced firmware update

I saw that new firmware was available but didn't update as our system works fine. Today it updated of it own accord but now the dashboard figures are broken We are generating and exporting most of the energy as the battery is at 100%.

Since the update the export total has stopped increasing in line with the generation and the consumption total is far too high. Consumption plus exports is far more than generated so can't be right.

Looking at the meter readings it seems the "grid export today meter" got reset to zero, so it has assumed we must of consumed it. The total export meter is still updating but the today meter is counting up from zero and the portal seems to be displaying its previous maximum.

nophead what inverter type / software / version numbers were you on? Moved to?

Some discussions about AC3 being solely updated by GivEnergy see thread below

Although it said the firmware has been updated the versions don't seem to have changed. Still on 307 and 3015.

I did read there was a dongle firmware update, perhaps it was that, but I don't see why that would zero a meter.

If the inverter reboots (which it might do on a software upgrade - quite likely!) you might find the daily export AND daily import values get reset to zero.

This is a confirmed bug on hybrid gen3, but guess it might exist in other device types too.

Import is zero anyway since the equinox as I have turned off the overnight charge and we have still always hit 100% during the day, so far.

I found log entries that show it was indeed a dongle firmware update and it did restart the inverter.

Looks like I've just had a firmware update foisted upon me. Probably just the dongle.

Are there any release notes for the dongle to say what has changed?

This has also happened to mine.

nophead is there a way to restart the system?

In the portal there is an option to restart the inverter. When my dongle was updated my inverter was also restarted afterwards and that cleared the generation today and export today meter, which was mildly annoying.
